We've got a $10,000 match for #GiveBIG!

Last year we raised over $28,000 from our community of supporters. This year we hope to raise $30,000! To help get us there, Rich & Martha Draves are matching the first $10,000!

I hope you saw Tom Vogl’s blog last week announcing The Mountaineers participation in #GiveBIG on May 9. Last year, our community of supporters raised over $28,000, and this year our goal is $30,000! To help us get there, my wife Martha and I have committed a $10,000 dollar-for-dollar match.

When The Mountaineers raises its first $10,000 during GiveBIG, we’ll instantly match it with another $10,000.

The Mountaineers have given me my deepest friendships and countless experiences with those friends. Just last week a group of us went boating in full wet suits to try out wakesurfing!

I support The Mountaineers to enable other folks to discover new connections and develop themselves in the outdoors. The mountains create personal challenges and connections that are hard to equal in our modern world.

Today, The Mountaineers and our volunteers are improving outdoor education, engaging new demographics, and advocating to preserve wild places for the enjoyment of future generations. My involvement with The Mountaineers has evolved from student to instructor to leader, but I remain active in The Mountaineers because I enjoy meeting new people and witnessing their excitement as they learn and grow.

#GiveBIG is an exciting campaign and one that Martha and I enjoy supporting. This is the day when nonprofits in Seattle and across the Pacific Northwest rally together to fundraise for important efforts that make living in this amazing place so special.

I hope you’ll join us by donating during #GiveBIG and help others find friendships and connections the way I did.
