We did it! Mountaineers Give More Than $210K at Year-End
Junior Mountaineers take a break on a cross-country ski trip.

You did it! Together we raised more than $210,000 and smashed our year-end goal.

During November and December, more than 650 members of our community gave back with contributions of all sizes. A record number of people chose tax-smart giving options, such as giving through donor advised funds and making qualified charitable disbursements from retirement accounts. 16 households upgraded to a Ridgeline membership with donations of $500, and 17 people joined our leadership giving circle, Peak Society, for the first time with donations of $1,000 or more. We are humbled by the almost 450 households that give back to our community as Ridgeline and Peak Society members.

I also want to give a special shout out to the 130 people who made a first-time donation to The Mountaineers this season. Together they gave $12,000, which was then doubled by a match from two long-time volunteers to help beat our goal!

I am so grateful for the ways Mountaineers like you give back as donors and volunteers to promote leadership, belonging, and conservation in our outdoor community. As a community, we map out plans to accomplish our mission and then combine our philanthropic resources to bring those plans to life. The close of the tax year is a critical time for The Mountaineers fundraising efforts because we are able to better and more accurately plan for our program allocations for the coming year. By hitting our year-end goal, we can position our resources to have the best possible impact through world-class publishing that educates and inspires, and programs that teach critical skills and build community.

You can read about what is made possible through donations by following Impact Stories on our website. Feel free to reach out if you ever have questions or ideas about the impact of your giving!

I am so excited for the joys that await in 2024.
