Feature Presentation

7:40pm - Feature Presentation: "Adventure Photography in the North Cascades and Beyond" by Jason Hummel.

Jason Hummel was raised in the foothills of Mount Rainier, where he started hiking, climbing, and skiing almost as soon as he could walk. After college, he worked 8 years as a financial advisor, but by 2009 he realized something was missing and walked away from office life:

"...a new camera was burning a hole in my soul and I couldn't maintain the status quo. I blame it on my window view of Mt. Rainier's North Face. But that's not all. The truth was, after years as a financial advisor, my creativity was in poor condition. Stock quotes and financial reports will do that to you. Release was needed."

Jason went on to work as a writer and mountaineering/ skiing/adventure photographer. His clients include Eddie Bauer and Outdoor Research, and his work has been published in magazines such as Backcountry, Skiing, Coast Mountain Culture, and more. Jason will be sharing his incredible photos from his adventures in the mountains, and sharing his stories of how the outdoors have defined and enhanced his life.

Check out Jason's website, www.alpinestateofmind.com for a taste of his spectacular work.
