What it's like serving on the council

Scott Carlson, current Olympia Branch Chair, describes the  benefits of serving on the council:

"I would like to encourage all Olympia branch members to considered running for one of our vacant leadership positions for fall 2022. As myself and other past leaders can sincerely attest, if you haven't yet volunteered to run in a branch election, you don't know what you are missing.

Prior to participating as Branch Chair, I considered myself a 'casual' member, who enjoyed a few club activities each year and tried to stay connected as best I could. But is was pretty limited. Since joining the Branch Leadership team, I am consistently in awe at the breadth of our Olympia Branch activities and dedication of our amazing branch volunteers.

I will be honest in that it has been difficult at times trying to balance this with my full time day job - especially during COVID. Just remember, when you volunteer, you become part of a larger team, who will graciously share their wisdom and help you succeed.

So, I encourage you to jump in and become part of the branch leadership. After all, we are all in this together!"
