Save the Date! Foundations of Leadership & Instruction (in-person course) - Dec 3
By Skye Stoury

Historically, The Mountaineers Leadership Conference has been a one-day conference of leadership development for our community of outstanding volunteers. This year, the Leadership Conference will take on a new format and name, but the heart of this one-day professional development event and opportunity to collaborate across branches will remain.

In July 2022, we launched the new Foundations of Leadership and Foundations of Instruction eLearning courses to meet the needs of our current and aspiring volunteers. We are excited to offer an in-person version of these two courses to support multiple learning styles and to provide a time for leader collaboration and community building. This in-person course will replace the Leadership Conference for 2022.

Save the date and join us for Foundations of Leadership and Instruction (In-Person Course) on December 3, 2022, from 9am-5:15pm at The Mountaineers' Seattle Program Center: 7700 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115. Registration includes coffee and tea service and a catered social hour in the evening. Catering will be provided by Old Ballard Catering Co.

REGISTRATION OPENS ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2022 AT 6AM

The in-person Foundations of Leadership and Instruction courses engage an expanded audience of current and aspiring volunteers, and will emphasize a different cadence to the day’s schedule. Similar to past events like the Leadership Conference, this in-person offering will be a full day of collaboration and learning across branches. Previous Leadership Conferences brought in outdoor professionals from partner organizations to present a series of interactive sessions. This year, we are excited to lean on seasoned leaders from our very own Mountaineers community for this event to explore the many facets of leadership.

Attendees will have the option to follow specific tracks ("Foundations of Leadership" or "Foundations of Instruction") to garner the knowledge necessary to complete a respective final quiz and fulfill badge requirements online on their own time.
