We are thrilled to be celebrating our honorary and fifty-year members of The Mountaineers and their guests an our annual luncheon.
The schedule for the luncheon will be as follows:
- 11:00 – 12:00pm: Gathering and Socializing outside the dining area
- 12:00 – 12:50pm: Hot Buffet Luncheon
- 12:50 – 2:00pm: Featured Speaker and Lifetime Achievement Award Presentation
- 2:00 – 3:00pm: Book Signing and Socializing
We are delighted to welcome guest speaker Jordan Hanssen – author, Seattle-ite and UPS graduate – who led a four-man team of rowers across the Atlantic Ocean on a 72-day expedition in 2006 that resulted in a Guinness World Record for the first unassisted row from the United States to England. His toughest challenge would come on his second trip across the Atlantic, a 3,200-nautical-mile row from Dakar, Senegal to Miami, Florida. Two weeks into this first-ever human-powered crossing from Africa to the Americas, two rogue waves flipped their boat and left them fighting for their lives. Hear a tale of survival in the open ocean.
Handicapped Parking: The Mountaineers has several spaces reserved for those needing special access along the south side of the building (right in front of the outside climbing walls). These spaces are appropriately marked and are connected to the building by a barrier-free pathway. The Mountaineers will have volunteers on hand to assist you the day of the luncheon. Due to sloping issues and traffic concerns along the front of the building, The Mountaineers is unable to establish wheelchair ramping any closer than what is currently in place.
