Optimize your conditioning for a successful season of hiking and backpacking!

Sheri Goodwin, a certified personal trainer and veteran of trekking adventures all around the Northwest and overseas, now runs a business focusing on helping others succeed in similar life-changing hiking and trekking journeys.

In this 2-hour evening class, Sheri will teach participants an array of exercises to increase mobility, stability, and strength to hike or backpack our amazing northwest trails with ease and help prevent unnecessary falls and injuries. Specific elements will include:

  • Dynamic warm-up techniques
  • Core exercises
  • Lower body exercises
  • A proper cool down
  • Discussion of appropriate build-up of exercises shown over a one-month period

During the class you will receive a handout outlining proper progression of sets and repetitions for each exercise, steadily developing your capability over a one-month period. You will also fill out a workout calendar to help keep you on track with your pre-season training program. All exercises taught in the class can be performed at home or outdoors. This is a hands on course, so be sure to bring your workout clothes!
