From Kilimanjaro to Rainier

On their second summit traverse of Mt. Rainier as part of the history-making Rainier Infinity Loop, Adventurers Gavin Woody and Ras Vaughan met Hakim and his two daughters on the Muir snowfield. Eight year-old Aisha and 5 year-old Anisah were joining their dad on their first hike to Camp Muir after years of hiking around the base of the mountain. Raised at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Hakim grew up hiking and climbing. He loves the mountains and wants his daughters to love them too.

Aisha and Anisah are lucky to have a family member that can share a love of the outdoors. For kids that don't have a way to experience adventures like this, you can help by making a tax-deductible donation to The Mountaineers Our Parks | Your Adventure to get kids outside so they can know and love our national parks too.

"Happening upon a father who was introducing his daughters to the world of adventuring really struck a chord with me. Not only was our meeting a perfect portent in light of our goals with the Mountaineers Youth Programs, but it brought to mind many memories of my own daughter, Angela, and our family thru-hike of the Wonderland Trail when she was 7 years old." - Ras Vaughan, Adventurer

You can double your impact by making a donation by midnight August 25! We're just $3,000 away from reaching a $10,000 matching gift challenge from Rich and Martha Draves.

Our national parks are counting on you. Will you help?
