10 Essentials: Questions

How did you get involved with The Mountaineers?

I got involved from getting to know Mountaineers customers at Pro Mountain Sports, and wanting to support the club’s mission of outdoor education, conservation, and stewardship.

What motivates you to get outside with us?

Climbing and sharing with new climbers.

What's your favorite Mountaineers memory?

Arriving at a climbers reunion to see jack-o-lanterns hanging from the basalt columns...which explained my SIG student’s odd request to borrow my rack on a rainy Seattle day.

Who/What inspires you?

Women climbers who want to lead, not follow.

What does adventure mean to you?

I am pretty conservative and don’t want too much adventure. I like nice weather, motivated, fun partners, straight forward route finding, easy climbing, no crowds, and summit bivy.

Lightning Round
Sunrise or sunset? Both, hopefully from a summit bivy and with a cup of coffee.
Smile or game face? Game face.
What's your 11th essential?  Extra socks.
Post-adventure meal of choice? Ice cream.
If you could be a rockstar at any outdoor activity overnight, what would it be? Botany.
