10 Essential Questions

How did you get involved with The Mountaineers?

I began working with the Seattle climbing committee during my first year in the intermediate climbing course as a basic course field trip leader.

What motivates you to get outside with us?

The beauty of the alpine environment, the camaraderie with the friends that I've been connected with during my years with the club. The physical challenges and the required fitness to do so is also a motivation. And the satisfaction of passing on my experience to new climbers.

What's your favorite Mountaineers memory?

Spring jaunts up Eight Mile Buttress in the Icicle.

Who/What inspires you?

Not wanting to be left behind from a great trip. And Mark Scheffer's superhuman strength!

What does adventure mean to you?

Experiencing a new place, new people, a new physical threshold to be met.

Lightning Round

Sunrise or sunset? Sunrise.
Smile or game face? Smile.
Superpower? Time travel!
Post-adventure meal of choice? Gustav burger and fries with beer in Leavenworth.
If you could be a rock star at any outdoor activity overnight, what would it be? Alpine speed climber (sadly, those days are slipping away).
