10 Essentials: Questions

How did you get involved with The Mountaineers?

The Mountaineers made the risky decision of hiring me as their Accounting Assistant, but I'm pretty sure it was the bad pun I told that landed me the job. Then I signed up for the intense scrambling course, and I was hooked!

What motivates you to get outside with us?

Other than trail snacks, all the stellar people I have met during my time at the club. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

What's your favorite Mountaineers memory?

On my first snow scramble, we were kicking steps in a line on the ascent and the trip leader farted the entire way up. No one could tell who was doing it until he told us he eats two bean burritos on every trip.

Who/What inspires you?

All the volunteers at The Mountaineers who give their time and expertise. <3

What does adventure mean to you?

ad·ven·ture
/adˈven(t)SHər,ədˈven(t)SHər/

verb [dated]
1. engage in hazardous and exciting activity, especially the exploration of unknown territory.
"they had adventured into the forest"

Lightning Round
Sunrise or sunset? Sunset.
Smile or game face? Smirk.
What's your 11th essential?  My 11th essential is Reinhold (see photo).
What's your happy place? In my sleeping bag with a book and headlamp.
If you could be a rockstar at any outdoor activity overnight, what would it be? Sandcastle building!

Your fart story reminds me of the time I was horseback riding a trail at Glacier National Park...the horse in front of me farted with every step.
