10 Essential Questions

How did you get involved with The Mountaineers?
I heard about The Mountainers through friends. I was going through a difficult time in my life. I joined to "air out" a bit and do something completely different that I knew I couldn't do by myself, and thought it was an amazing opportunity to start climbing.

What motivates you to get outside with us?

The way we're so organized and put safety always first. I love how I make tons of friends every time I'm out there.  I learn so much from much more experienced people and I'm excited about the great opportunity to become a climb leader.

Favorite Mountaineers memory?
Climbing Glacier Peak with a different branch and with students from various branches. I got to meet them, share stories, laugh, see sunsets and sunrises, and support each other. It was one great experience.

Who/What inspires you?
My mountaineering friends inspire me. The mountains and the beauty of the PNW inspire me too. There's just so much to explore - it's overwhelming and makes my heart smile to think how blessed I am to be part of this.

What does adventure mean to you?
It means going out there and doing what you love the most. It means getting out of your comfort zone and feeling great about it. It means having shaken legs and running out of breath, decomposing yourself and doing it again.

Lightning Round

Sunrise or sunset? Sunrise.
Superpower? The loudest person you'll ever meet. The most friendly too.
Smile or game face? Smile.
Post-adventure meal of choice? My own Brazilian homemade rice and beans. I love being out there and planning on a beer with the group too.
If you could be a rock star at any outdoor activity overnight, what would it be? The most badass rock climber for sure.
