Sea Kayak - Burrows

Wonderful trip, great weather, a good variety of water conditions to learn in, nice lunch spot at the lighthouse, opportunity to practice rescues in a beautiful cove, terrific leaders!

  • It was a good challenge learning to deal with the conflicting currents and waves in Burrows pass. Had great fun riding the fast flood current up the east side of Burrows island too!

Easy driving to the launch site, easy parking, very light winds, morning fog lifted by launch time of 10 am, 7.2 kt paddle total. With lunch at the lighthouse and time for rescue practices at the cove on the east side of Burrows island the trip took about five hours.
