Trail is in good condition. There were a couple minor creek crossings and snowfields to traverse, but they didn't pose much of a challenge.
Me and my hiking pal hit the trail at noon on a Wednesday, so the trail was not crowded. We probably encountered a dozen people total. The weather was partly sunny and a very pleasant 70 degrees, perfect for hiking. Bugs weren't very bad. We had to really push ourselves to keep going about a mile below the top, because we hadn't had much to eat and had probably burned more calories than we had consumed. At the top we had a great picnic and enjoyed the 180 degree view, especially the view of Mount Baker to the north. We were amused by a guy who was convinced that the mountain was actually Mount Rainier. Eventually he realized he couldn't argue with the compass.
This was a great hike and I'm sure I'll do it again, perhaps in September when the huckleberries are ripe. There were so many huckleberry meadows.
