CHS 1 Hike - Bridal Veil Falls

Starting early meant beating the crowds and the rain on this popular hike

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

We were a group of CHS1 hikers on an early season hike. The route was uneventful save for the snowfield just short of the falls. The group crossed safely at a slow and careful pace with traction and poles; with that experience, the group had even more confidence on the way back.

The weather forecast had called for rain. There was about five minutes of light hail at one point. Other than that, the rain held back until the moment we reached the cars. Perfect timing!

We only encountered a handful of fellow hikers on the way up, and a few more parties on the way back. The weather forecast, I suspect, kept most of the usual Lake Serene/Bridal Veil Falls crowds away.

4 miles in 2:25 including a snack break at the falls.
