Trip Report

Basic Rock Climb - The Tooth/South Face

Perfect day out with excellent team. Huckleberries are ripe!

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Easy to find, easy to approach, easy to climb. The approach through the boulder fields seems to get shorter and smoother every time - look for cairns and trail segments that get you most of the way through.

As my two alarm clocks went off at 3:45am, I questioned my sanity as well as my life choices. I love the Tooth, but wasn’t I just there? And again “just there” before that? But anything worth doing is worth doing to excess, I guess, so I got out of bed and went to climb the Tooth for the third time this month.

Left cars ~6:15am

Many thanks to Peter C for mentoring me; Barb M for being an awesome rope lead, mentor and friend; Paul B for helping organize the climb (sorry we went without you!); and the entire team for being fun, efficient, easy-going and well-prepared.
