8am Kautz Creek Trailhead
We should have nice weather for a scramble of Mt. Ararat in Mt. Rainier National Park. This is exploratory for the leader (though leader passed right by Ararat previously on the way to Iron and Copper).
Our route will take us along the Indian Henry's trail out of Kautz Creek Trailhead.
An e-mail with a prospectus will be sent to participants. We will move at a moderate pace which is usually fast enough to keep the blood pumping but not so fast that we can't actually talk to each other.
Required Equipment
- The Ten Essentials
- Helmet
- Traction
- Ice Axe
- Mountaineering Boots
Check with leader for any additional group gear or required equipment specific to trip location
