Meet at Alki Point (near: 3239 Alki Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116) at 9:30am gear on and ready to go.

This is a ONE-WAY Traverse walk.  Please plan on carpooling from the endpoint back to the start or busing back to the beginning.  The #775 can make the return from Seacrest to Alki Point in 20min.

Seattle Olmsted 70 (June 2024) walks complete the Seattle Olmsted 50 (October 2023) circuit to make a 120 km loop around Seattle parks and parkways.
Section 9 takes us from Alki Point to the West Seattle Passenger Ferry (Seacrest dock).
We'll start by walking northeast along Alki Beach, then up 61st Ave SW to the Log House Museum.  We then continue East along Schmitz Boulevard heading uphill and onto SW Hinds St.
We then turn North (left) along California Ave SW until we reach Hiawatha Playfield.  We'll walk around the playfield and up until we reach SW Lander St.
Walking west along SW Lander St, we'll make our way along several smaller streets until we get back down to Alki Ave SW.  We'll continue along Alki beach until we reach our end point at Seacrest dock.
June walks test the accuracy and utility of the seven new Turn by Turn directions before posting the public routes on the Mountaineers website in July.

The seven new sections replicate the format--about 6 miles, 500 to 900 feet elevation gain and rich in natural and cultural features.
