Urban Adventure - Long Beach

If you love the coast, the sand, and wildlife found there, join us as we head to Long Beach for the annual Sandsation competition. We'll photography sand sculptures during their creation and completion. In between, we'll take photos of various shore birds that may include brown pelicans. All skill levels welcome!

11:00 AM at at the north end of the Boardwalk; Bolstad approach in Long Beach.

I will be going down the night before and camping at Cape Disappointment State Park. You are welcome to join me. Reservations for this campground can be made here. If you have a small tent, I can have up to two other tents on my site (no cost since I get to camp for free).

We'll meet up at 11am and scope out some spots. The competition starts at noon with judging at 5pm. Here is the complete event schedule

During the competition, we'll wander around, taking photos, and meeting back up around 2pm to touch base and decide if we want to stick around or drive to the state park to photograph something else (there are often brown pelicans near the jetty).

Feel free to depart or head back to the beach around 4pm to photography sculptures that are finishing up.
