Urban Adventure - Discovery Park

Get ready to have some fun! This field trip will explore creative ways to take photos with your smartphone and is sure to be a fun-filled day!

Meet at the north parking lot at Discovery Park at 10am. There's plenty of room to park, but if you prefer to take the bus, the #33 drops off right at this parking lot.

Priority to students from the smartphone photography workshop.

We will use the wide-open spaces to practice some fun techniques. Below are a few that I have in mind, but if you  have seen a creative idea and want to try it, bring any props you'll need to do so.

  • Take a photo of an object from different angles
  • Panorama sequence (have same person in different spots of image)
  • With and without a reflector (the silver car window sun reflectors work well for this)
  • Take selfies using voice control or the volume button of your earbuds and a tripod (you can make a quick and easy tripod)
  • Take photos with a len ball or magnifying glass (I have both to bring)
