Priority given to Olympia Youth and Families. This is for families that like to climb or would like to try climbing for the first time. No experience necessary. If you have your own gear feel free to bring it but we will also have shoes and harnesses available. Climbing instruction starts at 10:00 and last climb is at 1:00.

  • Casual
  • Elevation Gain: 30 ft

Registration opens on November 1st at 10:00 for priority to Olympia branch youth and families. If you are affiliated with another branch, please wait until November 10th to register your family.

This trip is for families that like to climb or would like to learn to climb in a no-pressure, kid-friendly atmosphere. No climbing badge required. Upon arrival, please check in with Ben Witten. Adults will be asked to participate/belay and are welcome to climb too. If you are an adult who has previous climbing/belaying experience with the corresponding badge, feel free to register as an assistant leader. If it is dry outside, we will climb outside. If it is wet, we will climb inside.  If you have questions, I would prefer that you call rather than email because it's easier for me to respond to your questions that way.  I can be contacted directly at 360-570-3963.

Indoor and Outdoor artificial walls are great places to practice climbing skills, learn new skills and train for climbing strength and technique.
