Please email John and Peter with the following information:

  1. Tell us what SIG you are in and whether you need  a glacier climb to graduate.
  2. Read the leader notes and send the answer to the question at the end.

Priority is given to those who meet the combination of: a) 2nd year students who need a glacier climb to graduate, b) those in the David Johnson SIG or Intense Basic, and c) students of any branch that need a glacier climb to graduate.

We will accumulate responses until 6:00 PM, Monday, July 1st and then randomly assign spots based on the priority described above (you don't have to be the fastest clicker in the west to get on this climb).

ABOUT THE CLIMB

EXPECTATIONS

All participants should be familiar with the route. Look for information on the Mountaineers site, SummitPost, PeakBagger, WTA, and guide books.

PACE / TIMELINE

This will be moderately paced, 1 day climb of Sahale via the Quien Sabe. While we won't be going that fast, expect to be moving the entire day. This takes us on average 15 hours to complete. Expect an early start.

The questions for permission:
1. What do you currently do to maintain your mountaineering fitness? If you run or hike consistently, please provide miles or hours hiked/ran per week. If these are weighted runs/hikes, include the weight and if you drop weight for the down.

2. What is the longest hike you've done? You may provide examples of longest distance, highest elevation gain, or longest duration.

3. Pineapple or watermelon?
