Day Hike - Summit Lake

An in forest hike to a spectacular lake.

We will meet at the Mt. Rainier Carbon River Ranger Station at 8:30 AM, then caravan to the trailhead. We will travel on Forest Service dirt road with pot holes and close in branches. We will be traveling through an active logging area. A National Forest Service parking pass required for all vehicles.

The trail is rocky, and there likely will still be (consolidated) snow on the trail as we go into the Summit Lake Basin. We may be spend some time exploring the area around the lake.
