Day Hike - Shady Lane & Staircase Rapids
Let's get in a nice relaxing hike before the craziness of the holiday season sets in beginning with Thanksgiving this week and continuing on through early January. The greens of the mosses, ferns, and understory are sure to be magical on this late-fall hike along Lake Cushman and the North Fork of the Skokomish River. We will hike three connected trails on this outing: Shady Lane, Staircase Rapids, and part of the North Fork Skokomish River trail.

Given that this hike is in mid-November and the chances of rain are quite high this time of year, we'll hike unless weather conditions are very uncomfortable or dangerous, examples being very heavy rain or high winds in the forecast. Dress/pack for wet, cold, and changing weather conditions, the Ten Essentials, and a snack/lunch.
Specific meeting location and time to be sent out via e-mail 2 to 3 days prior to the hike. Plan to meet around 8:30 at a to-be-determined location near the Staircase Ranger Station.
