Day Hike - Schafer State Park

Join the Olympia Family Hiking & Adventure group for a fun day of hiking, tree discovery, and crafts at beautiful Schafer State Park. This activity is geared toward kids and families. Cathy Buck will be the mentored leader for this Family Hike.

The activity will begin at 10 am at Schafer State Park off of Highway 12 north of Satsop, WA. Estimated time of finishing is 3 pm. 

Items to bring: WA State Park Pass, rain & hiking gear and warm clothing, lunch & snacks, water.  

Day"s activities:  

  • an exploratory hike around Schafer State Park
  • a discovery activity of native tree mysteries 
  • lunch in the beautiful park shelter near the river 
  • craft time making cedar dream catchers
