Day Hike - McLane Creek Nature Trail

Help honor the gnomes of McLane in our Annual Gnome Hike for little kids! Gather the gnomes from their homes along the trail and celebrate with a feast of tiny gnome foods and blueberry juice. This year limited to three family groups!

  • Elevation Gain: 50 ft

We will meet at McLane shelter at 1:00 and begin our hike around the trail to gather gnomes shortly thereafter.  We will return with our gnome friends to the shelter for a thank you celebration to the stewards of the forest.

Dress for rain and cold.

Masks required for everyone and hand sanitizer for each family.

If you would like to  bring a tiny natural snack to share at our party, please prepackage them into four different packages for COVID safety. Gnomes like fruits and seeds and tiny treats.  Douglas Fir tea and blueberry juice provided.

We will be spacing into three family/COVID groups at the parties.  Gnomes do not contract COVID and will join your group safely.

The Ten Essentials

Each child should have their own backpack with spare clothes and water and a snack.

Parents should each have a backpack with family ten essentials for a short hike in the cold/wet.   Must include hand sanitizer.

There is a bathroom outhouse at the traiilhead but not along the trail.

Baskets for the gnomes to ride in will be provided.

Cups and plates will be provided for party.
