Another dumpster diving adventure in the foothills! Possible views, definitely a good workout.

Dumpster diving is a peakbagging term and refers to summits that are lower in elevation and tend to be less scenic. Dumpster diving is a good way to keep your hiking conditioning in the winter and avoid the crowds on the same old handful of hikes.

Shoulder season hikes require carrying additional gear and a willingness to put up with cold, rain, sometimes snow and everything in between. Microspikes (or similar) are REQUIRED for safety reasons.

My goals for this trip:

1.  Be safe.

2. Make it to the top of McDonald Mountain.

3. Have fun.

My expectations for trip participants:

1. Be prepared for and ok with possible inclement weather (cold, snow, rain, etc).

2. Have the physical conditioning necessary to maintain an average pace of 2.0 mph, slightly faster on the downhill, slightly slower on the uphill.

3. Practice Leave No Trace principles.

4. Be respectful of all participants.
