Day Hike - Ira Spring Trail

Day Hike up the Ira Spring Trail to Mason Lake with Fall colors coming out.

  • Moderate/Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,550 ft

We will meet at the Ira Spring trailhead at 8:00.  For anyone who needs to carpool they can meet me at the Tibbett's Park & Ride at 7:15 or a little before.  Directions to Ira Spring Trailhead are to take I-90 up to Exit 45 and turn left to go under the freeway and  veer left on to FR Road 9030, stay left at the fork on to FR 9031.  The trailhead is about 3.8 miles from the freeway so it adds to driving time to get to there.  Directions to Tibbett's Park & Ride to follow.

This will be a moderate paced hike on the Ira Spring Trail up to Mason Lake.  (Note)  I will be checking to find out if everyone has been doing similar hikes with this pace.

This is suppose to be a slightly cooler day than earlier in the week.     There will be some clouds and sun during the day which should give plenty of views as we near the top before going down to the lake.  As we are heading into fall I am hoping that we will be able to see the fall colors in the trees!

As always bring your 10 Essentials, food for lunch and snacks if needed.  We will take hydration and snack breaks along the trail.  Sun protection is always a must even if we are expecting some clouds.  Insect repellent is always a good idea also!  I am recommending at least 2 and a half litters of water.
