Day Hike - Granite Mountain Trail

Strenuous, beautiful day hike with excellent views. Hopefully we'll have good weather and views to enjoy lunch on top. Rainy weather cancels or we move location. Granite Peak is King County which is Phase 2 now for Covid Safe Start

  • Strenuous 3, Technical 2, Strenuous, Winter Scramble
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 8.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,800 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 5,629 ft
  • Pace: av 1.2 mi hr slower up, faster down, not including breaks

8:00 Trailhead, ready to leave then.

Please note, the hike is in King County, so Phase II guidelines.

I have one carpooler now so probably don't want to add more due to Covid concerns.

This is a strenuous hike and posted last minute. We want to ascend at a reasonable pace to avoid the heat have a good time. For that reason, no "guests". Mountaineer members only please. Please have done a similar hike of 3k'+ gain recently.

Also, look at recent WTA trip reports. Bug spray recommended. https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/granite-mountain
