Day Hike - Grand Forest-Fairy Dell Trail

Explore the most popular parts of Bainbridge Island, hiking through the beautiful Grand Forest Natural Area and ending on the Fairy Dell Trail hike to a secluded beach on Puget Sound, with lunch at a picnic table on a hilltop viewpoint.

Meet at 9 AM in the main parking lot in the center, east side of Battle Point Park, reached from the north via the Kingston Ferry, from Seattle via the Bainbridge Island Ferry and from Tacoma via SR 16, SR 3, SR 305, right at NE Koura Road, left at Miller Road NE, right at Arrow Point Dr NE and left at the park entrance.  No parking pass is required.

This hike starts at Battle Point Park, which is a former Navy Base, and travels through Grand Forest West and East, ending on the Fairy Dell Trail to a Puget Sound Beach.  Most of the hike is under a forest canopy.  Our lunch stop is at a picnic table on a hilltop with a view of Puget Sound.  Restrooms are located near the trailhead and the lunch stop.  Following the hike, there will be an optional restaurant stop in the former town of Winslow.
