Day Hike - Dewey Lake

Experience the alpine beauty of the popular Naches Peak Loop enroute from Chinook Pass to magnificent Dewey Lakes, where we have lunch on a sandy beach and a swimming opportunity, completing the loop on our return hike, providing us a spectacular view of Mt. Rainier, weather permitting.

Meet at 9 AM at the Enumclaw Ranger Station on Roosevelt Ave (SR 410).

We will consolidate cars at the Enumclaw Ranger Station, due to limited parking availability at the trailhead parking lot.  Then we will caravan to the trailhead parking lot on the north side of SR 410, just east of Chinook Pass.  The Naches Peak Loop, incorporated in this hike, is the most popular hike in Washington.  Adding beautiful Dewey Lakes as the lunch stop increases the attractiveness of this alpine adventure.  Swimming in the lake at a sandy beach during our lunch stop will be an option if the weather permits.  Restrooms are available at the Enumclaw Ranger Station, the trailhead parking lot, and the Tipsoo Lake parking lot, which we pass near the end of our hike, but not elsewhere on our hiking route.  There will be opportunities for bathroom breaks at a few places along the trail.  Each car parked at the trailhead parking lot will need to display a Northwest Forest Pass or the equivalent.
