This hike is part of the Winter Conditioning Hike Series hosted by the Foothills branch. It is not part of a course or program. Like any other open hike, it is open to all Mountaineers members.
This hike will be on Chuckanut Ridge and Mountain. There are various trails to hike on, various routes to pick. One option is to hike along the ridge to Cyrus Gates viewpoint up on a summit, offering views of the San Juans, and back past Lost Lake. Or we can do a loop around North Chuckanut Mountain and to Cedar and Pine Lakes. Either way, expect the hike to be about 12 miles with a bit over 2000 feet of gain. The pace will be moderate-fast and pretty steady.
