Crag Rock Climb - Climb in Kalymnos Greece

Climb and deep water solo on the island of Kalymnos for 1 week, staying in an apartment in a local village and riding scooters to the crags. Test your bravery deep-water soloing from local cliffs into the blue warm waters of the Mediterranean. At the end, spend a day sightseeing in ancient Athens.

Climbers will be expected to arrive in Athens Greece no later than Oct. 31st,  which means you must depart Seattle no later than Oct 30.  Participants will be picked up at the Athens airport and transported to a hotel near the airport.    We'll spend one night in Athens, fly to the Island of Kos, and take a ferry to Kalymnos on Nov. 1st.  We'll spend 7 nights on Kalymnos (Nov. 1st  through Nov. 7th ), returning to Athens on Nov. 8th.  Finally we'll spend Nov. 8th and 9th sightseeing in Athens.  Transportation is provided back to the airport in Athens for flights back to Seattle Nov. 10th.  

Lodging:  In hotels and or apartments on Kalymnos and in Athens

Food:  Will be up to each individual traveler.  Food is typical Greek fare and is very reasonably priced. 

Leaders:  Loni Uchytil (loniuchytil@msn.com) has been a climber for 10 years and has led trips for Global Adventures to Red Rocks.  Mick Pearson is owner and operator of KAF Adventures and has been taking climbers Internationally for several years.

Participant requirements:  You must provide all your own personal climbing gear and have the technical climbing ability to climb at a minimum of 5.8-5.9.

Trip Price:  $1700, including all accommodations in Kalymnos and Athens, and all transportation both on ground and in the air once in Greece.   Scooters are also provided while on Kalymnos.  Price does not include any food, extra excursions—museum fees, boat rentals if any are incurred for deep water soloing and any extra side trips that climbers want to take on their own.

Registration Instructions:  Contact the leader for approval to go on the outing.  After the leader’s approval, please call The Mountaineers at 206-521-6001 or provide a credit card number online to pay the full trip price, which is required to hold your space on the roster.   Registration closes September 1, 2015.

Cancellation Policy:    If you cancel before September 1, you may receive a refund less expenses incurred and a $100 administrative fee.  No refunds after Sept 1st, 2015 unless you find a replacement for your spot.
