This is an Intermediate Backpack.  Preference will be given to participants in the Seattle Intermediate Backpacking Program.

We are aiming for a three day, two night backpack based at Lake Ann.  Optional excursions from camp include Van Epps peak, journeying north on the Lake Ann trail to Scatter Benchmark, exploring towards Van Epps mine and possible to South Scatter Creek Pass.  Overall, I view this trip as challenging given details of possible route finding and off-trail travel, but hike at a moderate pace and seek to create a cohesive team who will work well together.

No helmet or ice axes, will turn back should we wish those things, but I often travel with microspikes, my favorite 11th essential
