We'll explore trails to remote alpine lakes among the towering 11,000 foot Italian Peaks in the Southern Beaverhead Mountains  of the Bitterroot Range and on the Continental Divide with forays into Idaho and Montana. This is an excellent 4 day, 30+-mile backpack including a base camp at Divide Creek Lake with day hikes into scenic Deadman Creek Basin and the three spectacular Webber Lakes. There are very good opportunities to view large wildlife like moose, elk, mountain goats, and bears.

Recommend camping night prior at Webber Creek campground (approx 7,000' elev) or accommodations in Dubois, ID.

Adverse weather/road conditions will cancel or postpone trip to later in July, or September.  Leader may offer an alternate destination in SE/S Central Idaho due to unfavorable conditions for Divide Creek Lake/Webber Lakes backpack.

A car shuttle may be required between Divide Creek and Webber Creek trailheads.

Daily itinerary to follow.
