Burroughs Mountain has been described as a mountain against a mountain. At over 7800 feet, it sets right up against the northeastern face of Mt. Rainier, hugging the Winthrop Glacier. The landscape atop Burroughs is both broad and barren, so there is little to inhibit full exposure to Mt. Rainier. Since this run is taking place well into the summer, we should not have an issues with snow.

We'll stick together as a group at about ~3-4 mph uphill and ~5 mph downhill. We will stop briefly at the top of First and Second Burroughs, then head on to Third Burroughs.  There we will have a slightly longer break to rest, snack, and gaze at Mt. Rainier.

Please contact the leader before registering if you have not recently done a trail run of similar mileage and elevation gain, and have any doubt about your fitness and stamina to keep up. We run as a group. WE ARE INTENTIONALLY OPENING REGISTRATION NOW - PLEASE ONLY REGISTER IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT ATTENDING. THIS INVOLVES EITHER AN OVERNIGHT NEAR RAINIER THE NIGHT BEFORE, OR A REALLY EARLY WAKE-UP TO MAKE THE START TIME.

Full details will be emailed shortly after registration closes on August 22. In the interim please contact the leaders with any questions: BMPeacock@aol.com or murphboonie1@gmail.com.
