This is a one day ski tour up Mt St Helens. We'll skin up, rest up, eat, wait for corn o'clock at the regular crater rim spot, rip skins, and then have a great ski down.
Participants should expect a pace that gets us to the summit in 5 hours or less.
AIARE 1 required.
When you reach out for permission, please describe your current fitness, the skis you intend to use, and your skiing ability. I have found that a dedicated touring set up is best since a heavy inbounds set up even with a "cross over" binding will more than likely put you on the summit well after the rest of the group. Splitboarders beware of the lower 2 miles or so which is cross country ski terrain and very flat.
Always super fun if we get the weather!
We'll meet at the Marble Mtn Sno-Park on Saturday afternoon, car bivy, and then do the tour in a day on Sunday with an alpine start
