One (long) day on on-water and on-beach instruction regarding incident management and prevention.  This clinic meets the requirements for Intermediate Sea Kayak Course students for an IM class, but not the vhf radio requirements. This clinic is intended for anyone who kayaks...period.  this year's students must have two student paddles completed before attending.  The clinic will cover multiple self and assisted re-entries, use of short and long tow systems, and incident scenarios. This clinic is packed with interesting additions to rescues learned in the basic class. You will be in the water...a lot.  some of the topics include; how do you tow fellow paddlers safely, and why would you need to? What do you do if (WDYDI) you lose a hatch cover on a 10 day trip (yes, they sink)? WDYDI you tear your drysuit while putting it on? WDYDI you punture your boat on a rock? WDYDI you need to pee and there isn't a landing zone (we'll just TALK about this one)? WDYDI you need to use a vhf radio and you've never used one before? Etc, Etc, Etc. I typically schedule these back to back with currents clinics, because what you learn on Saturday will be used for real on Sunday.  Check out the required equipment list.  There are some things you will need to have in addition to the basics.
