Requirements:

NW Forest or America the Beautiful Pass for parking at the trailhead. No additional permits required for backpacking.

Bear canisters are required.

Mileage:

Day 1 mileage and elevation to Shelter Rock Camp are approximately 2.5 miles and 1,346 ft of elevation. We'll set up camp and then decide on possible day-hiking options, including another 2.7 miles  and 2,047 ft up to Marmot Pass where we'll intersect the Tubal Cain Trail.
