Introduction to Skate (XC) Skiing
(One-Day)
Skating on skis: Fast, exhilarating, and a great workout. Designed for the novice or beginning skate skiers, the class cover basic skating techniques and movement patterns to get you gliding effortlessly down the trail. This is a one-day intensive class designed for XC skiers who want to learn the basic classic XC skiing techniques but are unable to take our multi-week course.
Taught by PSIA instructors on groomed trails.
Previous skiing experience either XC or alpine will help facilitate a fast-track learning experience. Potential participants without previous skiing experience are encouraged to complete the Introduction to Cross Country class.
Classes are taught on groomed trails at sno-parks in the Snoqualmie Pass/I-90 corridor. A sno-park permit with groomed endorsement is required for each parked vehicle. For more information, go to: http://www.parks.wa.gov/winter/
Participants supply their own ski gear. Options including gear purchase at retail shops or ski swaps, or rental at various rental locations.
