Be dressed in immersion gear at the meeting time, the first part of the clinic will be on land so no need for Sprayskirts/PFD/Helmet until we get in the water.
Negotiating the surf zone can be exciting and anxiety provoking all at the same time. We will meet students where they are and give them the skills and support to safely launch and land in the surf.
We will firstly gain comfort in the waves before learning techniques to handle ourselves and equipment safely around others before venturing outside the break. We will learn how not to get surfed and still land and if conditions allow will start to learn the basics of surfing.
We will break into smaller groups depending on experience, each will be lead by an experienced surf zone instructor.
