Sea Kayak Navigation to prepare you for the IKC assessment.

This course consists of 3 different activities; in class and on the water and the last field trip is a trip planning field trip. The first 2 activity is mutually exclusive. Participants can take one without the other. The Trip Planning (Practical) field trip is for participants who has taken both the on-land and on the water navigation.

For those who are enrolled in the IKC program and planning to take the assessment  of the  navigation portion, it is recommended to register for all the activities.

Note: Those who take the "on-land" class room seminar will have the priority to register for the "on the water" trip.

Required Equipment

For the class room you need a laptop, tablet or notebook. Cell phone is too small to do the work.

For on the water, besides a kayak and all the paddling essentials you must have a marine compass and a watch. 

You also need a VHF radio to practice a call to Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) for Trip Planning (Practical).
