Overview of basic plant anatomy using a botanical dichotomous keying system to arrive at identification of plant family and species. Two classroom sessions and field trip to Mount Rainier National Park to practice skills. This is not a highly technical training, but some familiarity with the concept of plant families is assumed.
This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from David Biek, who wrote "The Flora of Mount Rainier National Park" and will be the course instructor. Naturalist Study Group members and graduates of the "Introduction to the Natural World" will be given preference.
Participants should purchase " The Flora of Mount Rainier National Park" online.
