CHS 2 Hike - Wallace Falls & Wallace Lake Loop

If you love waterfalls and lakes, then this is the hike for you! You will be delighted by nine waterfalls, each one more majestic than the last one as we hike along to the serenade of the rushing Wallace River. We will leave the crowds behind at the Upper Falls and continue our hike to Wallace Lake where we can embrace the solitude and serenity of this beautiful lake. CHS hike led at a CHS 2 pace (2.0-3.0 mph)

Location: Wallace Falls State Park at the Trailhead

Meeting Time:  7:45am   Boots on the Trail:  8:00am

Directions:  You can use Google Maps for directions to Wallace State Parks.  However, the WTA recommends the following:  Proceeding from Everett on Hwy 2, approach the city of Gold Bar. Turn left onto 1st Street, then drive 0.4 miles and take a right onto May Creek Rd (there will be Wallace Falls signage for both turns). Snake your way up May Creek Rd for 1.3 miles until you reach a Y-junction. Right will take you into Camp Huston, so proceed left and drive up a short path into the Wallace Falls State Park parking lot. The lot is spacious but can easily fill up on the weekends as the park is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. Washington State Parks has a live camera on the parking lot.

 Parking Pass:  Discover Pass.

Carpooling:  If you would like to carpool, please meet up near Fred Meyer Garden Center in the parking lot behind the Starbucks and Big 5 Sporting Goods in Monroe, WA here.  This Starbucks, 18805 Stevens Pass Hwy, Monroe, WA 98272, opens at 4:00am so you will be able to purchase coffee and breakfast treats.  Arrive @ 6:45am.  Departure @ 7:00am

Weather: Please check the local weather the night before and the morning of the hike at NWS for Wallace Falls State Park.   If the trail conditions and or the weather is unfavorable, the hike will be canceled or rescheduled for a different location.

Sturdy waterproof footwear and trekking poles are recommended.

Bathrooms with flushing toilets are available for both women and men.

Please bring small, energizing snacks that are easily consumed during our short 5-minute breaks or that you can eat on the go! A treat will be provided during our bunch break, a well-deserved energizing GF treat as we relax at the lake.

Please be prepared for off-trail travel as we may need to navigate around fallen trees  or other obstacles.  Also, be prepared to climb over or under  trees  that are blocking the trail.  SAFETY  will always be our priority.

My co-leader, Phoebe, and I, are looking forward to sharing this 10-mile loop hike with you. More details about this hike will be provided in the “Hello Hiker” email.
