CHS 2 Hike - Lily & Lizard Lakes

A moderate day hike to two unique lakes in the Blanchard Forest just south of Bellingham in the Chuckanut Mountains. Hike up the Lily Lake Trail, then on to Lizard Lake making a counterclockwise loop. If the weather is nice there is an option to visit North Butte. CHS hike led at a CHS 2 pace (2.0-3.0 mph)

Carpooling:  Meet at Ash Way Park & Ride in Lynnwood at6:40am.  Load up and depart by 6:50am. It’s about an hour’s drive to the trailhead. 

Directions to Trailhead: Take Exit 240 off I-5 and turn northwest onto Lake Samish Road. Drive 0.5 mile, turn left onto Barrel Springs Road, and drive 0.7 mile.  Turn right onto DNR Road BL-ML, drive 0.7 miles to the lower trailhead (700 ft). For the upper trailhead (900 ft) continue another mile on DNR Road BL-ML, turn right, and drive 0.2 mile.

We’ll take the Lily Lake Trail to Lizard Lizard and loop back around via the Lizard-Lily Connector and Max’s Shortcut.
