CHS 1 Hike - Poo Poo Point

Starting from the East Sunset Way Trailhead, a CHS hike led at a CHS 1 pace (1.5-2.0 mph). Enjoy a late spring hike through a mossy coniferous forest and large ferns to Poo Poo Point which has views of Lake Sammamish, Issaquah, Bellevue, Seattle, and the Olympic Mountains and is used as a take-off venue for paragliders.

Current plans are to meet at 7:30 AM at the East Sunset Way trailhead which is about 0.3 miles south of I-90, exit 18.  

We will take a connector trail to the Wetlands Trail and then the Adventure Trail, which is a less traveled alternative to the High School Trail, prior to joining up to the Poo Poo Point Trail.

There is no Discovery Pass required for this hike, but there is also no privy at this trail location.  There are privies at Poo Poo Point.  Trail starts steeply, ascending about 325 feet in 0.4 miles, but then levels out and eventually drops about 100 feet.  At about 1.5 miles, when we connect with the Poo Poo Point Trail there is then an ascent of about 1500 feet over 2.5 miles before descending about 200 feet to the Point.
