Friday CHS1 hike! We'll trek along Elliott Creek through old growth forest, past cascades and McIntosh falls to reach a large alpine lake with views of Cadet Peak. Led at a pace of 1.5-2.0 mph.

  • Mileage: 10.4 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,400 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 3,161 ft
  • Pace: 1.5-2.0 mph

Meet at 8:30 AM in Everett.

  • The exact location will be provided in a pre-hike e-mail.
  • We'll be starting later than a usual weekend hike since I'm not expecting crowds on a weekday (I hope I'm not wrong about this...)

Trailhead: Goat Lake Trailhead

  • Approximate time to/from meeting location: 1.5 hours each way(i.e. it'll be a long day)
  • Permits: Northwest Forest Pass or National Parks Pass

The route for this hike will take us along the Upper Elliott Trail on our way toward Goat Lake and then along the Lower Elliott Trail on the way back. At the lake we'll take a break and enjoy the view of an alpine overlooked by multiple peaks.

After the hike the plan is to stop at someplace nearby to eat. Suggestions are welcome.
