Meet at the Tibbetts Valley Park & Ride (I-90, exit 15) at 6:15 am or meet at the trailhead at 8:15 AM due to the small lot at the trailhead which has only 20 parking spaces.  More information in the Hello Hiker letter.

We will be hiking the SW lollipop loop, summiting Little Bear Montain.  Two-thirds of the hike will be through fairly open country so come prepared with a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses.  The remaining third of the hike will be through a Ponderosa Pine/Douglas Fir forest. The trail tread should be in excellent condition as hiking is not allowed if it is too muddy.  The first mile has a grade of 650 ft/mile and there are a couple short sections where the ascent/descent is steeper so hiking poles are strongly advised.  There are no water sources along the trail and normal mid to late May are sunny with highs in the upper 60's so bring sufficient water.

After the hike, there will be an optional late afternoon, lunch  in Cashmere.
