Basic Backpacking Field Trip - Duckabush River

Overnight field trip for the Basic Backpacking Course. This is the last scheduled activity for the course. Contrary to the trip description at the link below, this trip is not strenuous when done as an overnight backpack.

We’ll meet at the Duckabush River trailhead by noon. We may want to carpool to save on ferry fares.

    This trip is not strenuous when done as an overnight backpack. We’ll see mountains, territorial views, and the beautiful Duckabush River itself. Time permitting, we’ll do a short day hike after we set up camp.

    About Basic Backpacking Field Trips

    The Basic Backpacking Field Trip is the final scheduled activity of the Basic Backpacking Course.  For most students it will be their first overnight trip in the backcountry.  Basic Backpacking Field Trips are usually single-night trips along Easy or Moderate routes that do not present any unusual technical challenges.
