This is the Snow Field Trip Associated with Alpine Scramble Course - Pod G

Time TBD closer to event. If weather conditions are not favorable, we will move the trip to a later day.

This is for Pod G.

Objective: Practice steep snow travel skills, proper use of an ice axe, crampons and emergency bivouac
What to Expect:
    Practice walking in-balance with crampons and glissading using your ice axe, on steep snow
    Practice each self-arrest position with both hands, on steep snow
    Practice an emergency bivouac set-up, in snow
Review of basic avalanche safety and terrain awareness

   Note: we teach the self-arrest grasp, primarily – figure 16-14.a.
